Victoria Beckham, SS16.

Remember the days when the Victoria Beckham brand was form-fitting midi dresses and sky high heels? Well the former Spice Girl has done a total 180.

Cue picnic blanket check and surfer prints across relaxed, slightly oversized pieces including culottes, skirts and of course, the below-the-ankle midi dress, now synonymous with VB, for Spring/Summer 2016. There wasn't a high heel insight, instead flatform python sandals and monochrome slippers provided the footwear of this collection.

In fact, there was nothing that even nodded the brand's cocktail dress or red carpet past. The fluid collection of chic separates and ankle-grazing dresses was a refreshing look for the Beckham brand, and one that journalists welcomed. Vogue UK have said she has finally shed her Spice Girl former self, to become one of the big league designers. I have to say, I agree. There was nothing overly glamorous, just really great, wearable pieces.

With store openings planned for Miami and Singapore in the works, the weight of fabric was also something VB took into consideration. Everything just about touched the skin - no form-fitting pieces from days gone by! About the collection, 41 year old Beckham stated:

"It's about attitude, rather than one particular look - I don't wear a lot of print, but I challenge myself, finding ways to make it work,"

There was definitely some Hawaiian influences present in the collection, but unlike her competitors Victoria kept it classy, and of course so so chic.
