Brad for No. 5.

Not happy guys.
When the news broke that Brad Pitt is to be the new face of Chanel No. 5, I was surprised to say the least. Not that I don't think he's a handsome man, because he is, I just thought there were so many better options to follow in the footsteps of Nicole Kidman and Audrey Tautou! As models.com stated 'Celebrities have a long history with Chanel No. 5 ... but we’re of the mindset that no one does it better than a model' and I couldn't agree more. If they wanted a man, surely male model of the moment Baptiste Giabiconi could fit the bill? Karl certainly loves him and he has proven he's a favourite with the ladies, cue Katy Perry.

...definitely leaves much to be desired. Doesn't it?

But why a man? Surely a female model could do the job better. Supermodel Coco Rocha showed her anger by tweeting: 'No working model is happy for Brad Pitt and his new gig as the 'face' of Chanel No. 5.' And who can blame her? Models already have to compete with female celebrities for covers and campaigns, and now they're up against men too? Hardly fair. Chanel veterans Freja Beha, Abbey Lee and Heidi Mount must be pretty bummed. Models have produced some AMAZING fragrance campaigns over time and I just don't see why Karl et al. have gone in this direction?!

Here are a few of my favourite fragrance campaigns that Mr. Pitt will have a hard time beating:

Natalia Vodianova for Calvin Klein - The most beautiful image ever? Her face!!

Carmen Kass for Narciso Rodriguez - Simple but so beautiful.

Anna Jagodzinska for Tom Ford - That face, that BODY!

See, models just do it better. What are your thoughts on 'Brad for Chanel'?
