CFDA Awards, 2013.

Dubbed as the ‘Fashion Oscars’ by style.com, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards took place in New York last night, 3 June. As supermodels, celebrities, designers and editors gathered at the Lincoln Center for the ceremony, there was definitely some stand out looks.

Miranda Kerr wowed in Porenza Shcouler

Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima was perhaps my best dressed of the night in Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci. The pixelated, purple, patterned top half of the dress contrasted massively with the sheer skirt below, and the simple hair and make-up didn’t detract from the overall effect.

Next who impressed was the latest Olsen to step into the limelight. Finally out of Mary-Kate and Ashley’s shadow, Elizabeth looked impeccable in a design by The Row - her older sisters’ line. Mary-Kate accompanied her sister and their all black outfits complimented each other perfectly.

Following Adriana’s lead, fellow Victoria’s Secret angel Candice Swanepoel looked incredible in AW13 Prabal Gurung. Perhaps a theme for the night, the effortless hair and make-up was the perfect juxtaposition to the edgy dress.

Finally, Nicole Richie wowed in a metallic, floor length Marc Jacobs gown. Paired with a red lip and sleeked back hair, Nicole has well and truly cemented herself a style queen. Gone are the days when she was Paris Hilton’s chubby, comical best friend.
